Introducing ‘Barker at The Brogue Trader’
Over the last few weeks, following the opening of our store in Newcastle, you will have noticed us talking about the relationship which we have recently launched with Barker shoes and the name ‘Barker at The Brogue Trader’. We’re proud to announce that this change in direction will not just be coming to new stores launched around the country, but also to our existing stores on the 1st June this year.
That means all our stores other than the original store in Cardiff will be transitioning away from ‘Loake Shoemakers’ to become ‘Barker at The Brogue Trader’, bringing a broader offering of styles, sizes and options, whilst continuing the same level of service that our customers have come to expect.
Who are Barker Shoes?
Since 1880, Barker have built a reputation as one of the best shoemaking factories in England. With a focus on fine materials and skilled craftsmanship, we know that our customers will be impressed by both the range of styles they offer and quality of the products they manufacture. From heavyweight goodyear welted boots to elegant oxfords and lightweight sneakers, our stores will have even more options to ensure we have a pair of shoes to meet every client’s needs.
A Broader Offering, The Same Service
Our new stores will offer all the classic styles that our customers would expect, but what Barker do better that anyone else in the industry is take chances! So, we look forward to offering wedge soled moc-toe boots, multicoloured brogues and most importantly a ladies’ range. We will also be able to offer a much larger range of options in a wider fitting and sizes going all the way from 5 to 15!!
Barker ShoesWhat This Means for Loake Shoemakers
As part of our transition towards Barker Shoes, we will cease supplying Loake Shoemakers in their entirety. This will include factory repairs on their products. We will continue to offer a factory repair service for all Loake Shoes, however this will no longer be facilitated through Loake themselves, so if you have an old pair which need some TLC, this is the time to get them back into the store so that our teams can assist you.
Our Six Pair Club
We have proudly run our “6 Pair Club” since opening the original store in Cardiff in November 2013. When we later opened our first Loake branded store in 2015, we continued to offer this well-established loyalty scheme to our new customers. It has remained a valued part of how we recognise and reward long-standing customers in our stores to this day. Whilst Loake has recently introduced a different approach to customer rewards within Loake-owned stores, we have continued to operate the 6 Pair Club exactly as before in all of our stores.
In our new Barker at The Brogue Trader stores we will continue to offer our loyalty scheme in the same way as before and from June 1st you will also be able to use the loyalty scheme in all existing Barker stores.
We’re excited for this next chapter and look forward to welcoming you into our newly updated stores in early June.
