I recently bought a pair of brogues from Loake, Manchester. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but wasn’t entirely sure. I was served first by Isaac, and later Matthew.
I thought they were both excellent at their jobs, because they were extremely knowledgeable firstly about feet (quite important if you’re selling shoes), and also about Loake products (how they’re manufactured, how to care for them, etc.).
Subsequently, they were able to advise me on the shoes they thought were best for me, that fitted me properly. This is NOT the usual experience I have had from other shoe shops.
So, next time I need a pair of smart shoes, I’ll be heading for Loake in Manchester!
